A THUMB wrestler from the Capital is to appear on a new TV show featuring actor Will Mellor and comedian Rory McGrath.
The 2012 World Thumb Wrestling Championship was won by Graeme Cunningham – otherwise known as Flash – who beat off stiff competition from the best 29 thumb wrestlers in the world at a pub in Lowestoft, Suffolk, last year, as well as Will and Rory.
Graeme, who is in his early 30s and lives in Fountainbridge, puts his success down to closing his eyes while competing and using his sense of movement instead of sight.
He will be seen winning the competition on the Rory and Will – Champions of The World programme, which will be shown from 9pm on Channel Five on Monday.
The event saw competitors linking hands within a small wrestling ring and trying to pin each other’s thumb down for three seconds.
