Broken jaw after attack at garage

AN attack victim suffered a broken jaw after being punched in the face while waiting in the queue at a service station.

The 26-year-old had been walking home with friends at 3.45am when they stopped at the Canonmills Service Station to buy refreshments.

While waiting in the queue, a man walked up to the victim and punched him to the face.

He was taken to hospital for surgery on a broken jaw. The victim reported the attack to police on Monday.

Officers are following a positive line of enquiry after the incident on Sunday, July 3.

The suspect is described as being white with dark hair, and wearing a long-sleeved black T-shirt with large white logo on the front and maroon coloured trousers. A police spokesman said: "Anyone who can assist in identifying the man responsible for this unprovoked attack is asked to contact us."
