US health care costs blamed for wife's murder

A MAN charged with murdering his wife by throwing her off their fourth storey balcony, may have been frustrated by the cost of her health care.

According to documents filed yesterday in Jackson County Circuit Court, Missouri, Stanley Reimer walked his wife to the balcony of their apartment and kissed her before throwing her over.

The body of Criste Reimer, 47, was found on Tuesday night outside the building.

In the probable cause statement, police said Reimer, 51, was desperate because he could not pay the bills for his wife's treatment for neurological problems and uterine cancer.

Investigators said that Reimer told them, "She didn't jump."
