Rangers set to sign Goain, Bougherra to Qatar and Lennon bites his tongue on opening day

Dorin Goain flies in

Rangers could be on the verge of signing centre-half Dorin Goian after he flew into Glasgow last night. A deal has apparently been struck with Palermo to bring the player to Scotland in a deal worth 750,000 (Daily Record) or 800,000 (The Sun).

Provided there are not glitches, Goain will meet today's 5pm registration deadline to allow him to play in the Champions League qualifier against Malmo. (Daily Mail)

Defender Majid Bougherra could be on the verge of a shock move to Qatari side Lekhwiya Sports Club in a 2.6 million deal. (Daily Express)
