THE world’s largest building has been unveiled - and is set to feature its own beach and sunsets.
The New Century Global Center in Chengdu, southwest China has 1.7 million square metres of floor space, or more than 24,000 times the size of the average two-bedroom flat.
The Center is a mix of residential, retail and business units and is designed to boost the reputation of the Sichuan province and western China in general.
The 6,000-capacity beach and 150 metre-wide LED screen which displays the ‘sun’ will be added at a later date, along with a water park housed within a huge glass dome. Amenities already include a multiplex cinema, an ice rink, and a wide array of other outlets.
The New Century takes the largest building crown from Dubai Airport.
