Peace talks agreed in Philippines

THE PHILLIPINE government and Communist rebels have agreed a nationwide truce to help restart peace talks.

The Communists ordered the New People’s Army to stop attacks on military and police forces after talks in the Netherlands, where rebel leaders live in exile.
