Head surgery

SURGEONS in Singapore are to go ahead with an operation to separate a pair of adult Iranian sisters who were born joined at the head.

The surgery on Laleh and Ladan Bijani, 28, could happen as early as next week, said a Raffles Hospital official.

In 1996, German doctors said surgery may kill one or both women because they share an artery that feeds blood to their brains.
