Former governor cleared over attack

A FORMER Cambodian governor, accused of shooting three factory workers during a protest, has been acquitted in a ruling that prompted outrage from rights groups.

Chhouk Bandith was governor of Bavet, at the time of the 20 February shooting of three female protesters. The women were wounded while demonstrating with 1,000 others for better working conditions and benefits.
