HOPES that the disbandment of the controversial Nasaka border security forces in Burma’s troubled Rakhine state would reduce religious conflict in the region have been shaken after up to five people trapped in refugees camps died – one after allegedly being tortured by police – and about a dozen others suffered gun-shot wounds following run-ins with officers.
