Women believe car dealers take them for a ride
More than a third of women believe they are likely to get ripped off by car dealers, while almost half say they are patronised by men trying to sell them cars.
A total of 43 per cent of women said they feel patronised by car showroom dealers and nearly a third said they hate visiting them.
The survey, by car retailer Quicks, was based on responses from 1,000 women motorists.
It showed that more than 40 per cent of women would not buy a car from a dealer unless they were accompanied by a male family member or friend.
More than a quarter said they felt uncomfortable looking round a dealership with a salesman, while a third believed they were not taken seriously by dealers.
