Women drivers do less drinking
WOMEN drivers in the Lothians are more likely to heed drink-driving messages than men, it has been claimed.
Car insurer Diamond said, following a survey in the area, that more women would consume no alcohol before driving than men.
And in a bid to hammer the message home further, the organisation has teamed up with city restaurant Browns, on George Street, to create non-alcoholic cocktails for designated drivers.
Diamond managing director Sian Lewis said: "The results show that the anti-drink drive message does seem to have hit home with women and most aren't taking the risk, but with long summer nights there is a temptation to have one drink."
