Woman holds hammer at Jade Goody's hospital bedside
SECURITY has been tightened in a London hospital after terminally ill Jade Goody was confronted by a woman armed with a hammer standing at the side of her bed.
It is thought the celebrity's husband, Jack Tweed, had left her for a few moments when the intruder walked into her room at the Royal Marsden Hospital yesterday afternoon.
Goody's spokesman, Max Clifford, said: "Jack had been with her for a few hours and had gone to get a cup of tea in the canteen when this happened.
"She woke up to find this woman leaning over her. She was not hurt, but was very shaken up, as you can imagine."
He added that security had been stepped up around the reality TV star's room following the incident.
The attack comes just a day after Goody and her two young children were christened in the hospital's chapel.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "A 41-year-old woman was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon and taken into a west London police station, but was later released from custody."
Police said there would be no further action.
