Woman fights for life after street attack
A WOMAN, believed to have been working as a prostitute, was fighting for life last night after suffering serious head injuries in a "particularly violent "attack.
The 29-year-old was discovered early yesterday lying in a pool of blood in the basement entrance of a city-centre office block in Glasgow, a short distance from the city's red-light district.
Police believe the victim had been left for dead by her attacker, and doctors last night said her condition was "giving cause for concern".
The attack came days after a 26-year-old prostitute was raped in a city-centre car park. However, police said it was too early to link the incidents.
Police are anxious to speak to anyone who saw the woman in West Campbell Street and West George Street, possibly with a man. She is described as white, slim and with light brown hair. She was wearing black trousers and a black top with a pattern.
