Woman dies in fire at top–floor Edinburgh flat

A WOMAN has died in a fire at a top-floor city flat.

Firefighters were called to Albion Road in Edinburgh at around 7:35am yesterday.

The woman was rescued from the flat, but ambulance crews pronounced her dead at the scene, Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service said yesterday.

The cause of the fire will be investigated.
