Woman dies after Restalrig flat fire

A WOMAN in her 30s has died after a fire in a high-rise flat in the Capital.

Firefighters were called to Nisbet Court in Restalrig at around 10.40am to a report of a fire in a flat on the 14th floor of the building.

They rescued a woman from the property and she was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary but pronounced dead at the hospital.

A fire investigation into the cause will now take place.
