Woman dies after fall in Cairngorms
A 40-YEAR-OLD woman has died after falling 200 metres while walking in the Cairngorms.
Teresa Conalty, of Co Wicklow, Republic of Ireland, suffered head injuries after falling on to rough ground on Coire Cas at about 11am on Saturday. She died later that day in Aberdeen, Northern Constabulary confirmed. Her family have been informed.
Ms Conalty had been evacuated from the scene by members of the Strathclyde Police and Arrochar Mountain Rescue teams who were training nearby and Cairngorm Mountain Ltd Ski Patrol staff.
She was flown to Aberdeen in an RAF search and rescue helicopter.
It comes after a trio of climbers were killed during an avalanche near Glencoe last weekend.
