Wind-farm study tainted
Your report about the Macauley report on building wind farms on peatland (1 July) put the case for covering Scotland in wind turbines. The report was predictable, as, indeed, was the recent study into how wind farms will affect tourism; both were carried out by organisations that depend on Scottish Government handouts.
The 83-page report makes it quite clear that the Macauley institute supports wind farms, and, therefore, I would suggest its findings are, at best, tainted.
Your reporter should visit a wind farm under construction and see the damage that a 1,000-tonne concrete turbine foundation causes to the peat structures.
