Wheelchair service wins £1000 award
A LOTHIANS service providing local people with specialist wheelchairs has won an award for shortening waiting times.
The SMART Centre at the Astley Ainslie Hospital in Morningside was handed 1000 for work carried out with patients who needed wheelchairs to help their posture.
NHS Lothian staff there changed the way the system worked which led to people being fixed up with equipment in a shorter time.
They were handed a Healthcare Science Award.
