New Yorker, Joe Bonaparte is from an immigrant family. From humble and impoverished beginnings he is tempted away from the strict moral principles of his father and relatives to the lucrative and glamorous life of a prize fighter. Along the way Joe faces the reality of losing his gifts as a musician and the disappointment of his father who wants him to become a professional violinist.
