What is CBI's agenda?
Alexander McKay (Letters, 10 January) writes: "Now that the director of the CBI in Scotland, Iain McMillan, has added his weight to the arguments against the SNP's local income tax, perhaps it is time this absurd Nationalist plan is finally laid to rest."
Having been a manager in industry and commerce for number of years, I have lived through many programmes of downsizing, rightsizing, offshoring, nearshoring and rightshoring. During each of these phases, the management mantra has been that everyone has to be a "change agent". So, it is surprising that such captains of industry as the CBI Scotland are being so Luddite and resistant to change on such a progressive tax – or is it because they are executing a political agenda?
