What I Know About Women - Scott Ramsay Kyle

26-year-old fashion designer Scott Ramsay Kyle lives in London.

MEN often complain that women have so many more options than they do when it comes to fashion, and I think that's absolutely true. At the same time, women have so much choice that it can make life difficult. All a man has do to look smart is put on a suit, whereas a woman has a thousand options. Perhaps that's why women have a reputation for taking so long to get ready!

I think that if I could be a woman for the day I'd like to know what it's like to wear a pair of heels. I'm casting models at the moment and they're all wearing these towering heels. I never fail to be amazed at how they manage to walk in them all day. I've heard women joke that it's worse than childbirth, and it certainly looks pretty painful. But then it looks quite fun too, and I think that women can have so much more fun with fashion than men.

While external beauty is very important when it comes to choosing models, I really am looking for girls with a vivacious personality for this collection. Even when you're employing someone to look beautiful, you really need that extra something that comes with a great personality, and I think that applies to all women. It doesn't matter how beautiful they are, personality is everything. It sounds a bit cliched, but I love a woman with confidence, and I think that trumps everything else.

I live with four female flatmates and I share a studio with three women so I guess you could say that I know them pretty well! Men will often say that they don't understand women, but I'd like to think that I'm quite clued up. I think that the gap between men and women is exaggerated. My mother brought me up to respect women and to view them as equals, and I'd like to think that I do exactly that. Having said that, my friends sometimes joke about my 'harem' because when I come home from the studio my flatmates will often tell me that they've made me some supper or done my laundry.

I think that they just like to look after me, but I like to look after them too. Women can be incredibly supportive and I think that you need a strong support network. I know that I can always count on my harem!
