Weeding out untidy greens
A BLITZ on unruly back greens in Leith is to begin next month.
Tenement residents are being asked to nominate communal gardens in need of desperate attention, as well as volunteer to join an action squad to carry out the work.
The Leith Blitz is the brainchild of Edinburgh Community Backgreens Association. A preliminary meeting to launch the scheme will take place on Wednesday, April 1, in the Drill Hall, 36 Dalmeny Street, between 7pm and 9pm.
Clean-ups will then take place on Saturdays in gardens between Easter Road and Leith Walk.
