Warning over finance crisis
TWO former Bank of England economists will warn an Edinburgh audience tomorrow that the financial crisis is not over.
Erik Britton and Danny Gabay, of Fathom Consulting, will take part in a seminar at the Scottish Parliament organised by the David Hume Institute.
Mr Britton said: “Politicians and analysts seem to have finally abandoned their hopes for a ‘normal’ recovery. But they have yet to grasp an essential truth – the financial crisis is not over, but its legacy to date is a huge debt overhang.
“Growth will inevitably suffer as governments try to deal with this problem.”
