POLICE are urging residents to guard their properties following a spate of thefts.
Officers were called to Gladstones Gait in Bonnyrigg in the early hours of Tuesday last week after a man in dark clothing was seen in a garden.
The suspect fled as police arrived and officers found a number of unlocked sheds and garages nearby.
Police later learned that an unsecured house in Rose Neuk had been broken into, and there had been a theft from an unlocked car in Harmony Crescent.
A police spokesman said: “These incidents highlight the importance of home security.”
