Voting for football fundraiser kicks off

Voting has opened for the Scottish Premier League’s fundraising weekend, which will see one charity benefit from collections at six football games.

Supporters will choose a cause to receive donations collected at matches during the Weatherseal Charity Weekend, which takes place on 8 and 9 December.

The shortlisted nominees are Shelter Scotland, Scottish Women’s Aid, Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS), Samaritans Scotland and Alzheimer Scotland’s football memories project.

SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster said: “This is a great opportunity for supporters to have their say in this new project.”

Tony Reilly, managing director of Weatherseal, added: “This has been a season about supporters and I am sure they will help raise as much as possible for the chosen charity.”
