Veterans' care home makes appeal for volunteers
VETERANS' charity Erskine is appealing for more volunteers at its Gilmerton care home.
The charity held a volunteer recruitment fair at the Assembly Rooms yesterday, but is still looking for more volunteers of all ages to help care for ex-servicemen and women.
Volunteer co-ordinator at the home, Debbie McCorvey, said: "We hope that many more volunteers will come forward to spare a few hours a week. With our home now expanded with a further 38 veterans, we will rely even more on the time that volunteers can offer."
