University case study: Andrew sets his sights on student life
Andrew sets his sights on student life
He knows exactly what he wants to do when he leaves school - study politics and international relations at Edinburgh University.
Despite the fact he will sit the majority of his Highers next year, he still needs to get good grades this year to give him a fighting chance of securing a place at university.
The 17-year-old, who has been voted head boy, will receive his results for Higher English and Higher modern studies next Thursday and hopes to get an A or B for both.
He will also receive results for Intermediate 2 French and maths.
He said: "I will rely more on next year's results but to give myself a head start I have to keep my fingers crossed that I get the results I need next week."
He added: "People have trouble getting into university but I've got friends who are older than me who have managed to get in so you just need to set your mind to it."
