Union attacks 'six-figure salaries'
ONE of Scotland's largest public-sector unions has launched a pre-emptive attack on SNP plans to finance major building programmes.
Ahead of giving evidence today to Holyrood's finance committee, Unison has described Scottish Government proposals to create a Scottish Futures Trust (SFT) as "an expensive quango employing staff on six-figure salaries". The attack is based on the Scottish Government's own business plan which allocates 1 million for six or seven SFT staff.
But defending the SFT plan, a Scottish Government spokesman said: "It means we will get more for our money."
John Swinney, the finance secretary, will announce details tomorrow.
