Live exports scandal
The World Society for the Protection of Animals welcomes the news that over 50,000 sheep have been allowed to leave the ship on which they have been stranded for almost three months since leaving Australia for the Middle East. In that time, more than 5,000 have died.
This scandal is a compelling reminder that the long-distance transportation of millions of animals for slaughter can no longer be allowed to continue.
