Uni is kosher says professor
A PROFESSOR today defended standards at Edinburgh University, following the high-profile slight on The Apprentice TV show.
Margaret Mountford, one of Sir Alan Sugar's advisers, suggested "Edinburgh isn't what it used to be" after classics graduate Michael Sophocles admitted he didn't know what kosher food was.
But Douglas Cairns, head of history, classics and archaeology, said: "If Mr Sophocles had been a student now, I guarantee he would have been better informed."
