Union chief loses mayoral leaflet case

A JUDGE has kicked out a libel claim brought against London Mayor Boris Johnson by RMT union chief Bob Crow.

Mr Crow had complained about leaflets produced for Mr Johnson’s campaign for re-election in May.

Mr Justice Tugendhat, at the High Court, ruled that the leaflets – which suggested that Mr Crow’s association with mayoral candidate Ken Livingstone could damaged Mr Livingstone’s electoral prospects and Londoners’ interests were not defamatory.
