A PART of the UK Parliament was briefly evacuated this morning after reports of a bomb threat, police have said.

Workers in Portcullis House were told to leave the premises after a suspicious package was found in the building. The nearby Westminster underground station has been closed.

Police have allowed people to re-enter the building after the item was checked by police.

A spokesman said: “It has been declared non-suspicious – everything has been stood down.”
