Tourists leave £2bn behind

BRITISH holidaymakers left behind personal belongings worth more than £2 billion when they returned home, ranging from clothes and shoes to jewellery and food, new research showed today.

A survey of more than 2000 adults by Lloyds TSB revealed that over half had forgotten to bring everything back after a break abroad.

Unusual goods left behind in hotel rooms or on the beach included a frying pan and a hot-water bottle.
