Torch auction will benefit charity

THE first Olympic torch to be sold at auction is expected to fetch thousands of pounds in Edinburgh this weekend.

The memento is being sold along with the official white and gold torchbearer’s uniform at Shapes Auctioneers.

The seller, who wishes to remain anonymous, will donate money from the sale to the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice, in Glasgow.
