Titanic key set to go on sale
A TINY key that might have prevented the Titanic sinking will go on sale at auction today.
The key opened the ship's binoculars' store, but was removed by an officer transferred off the vessel before its maiden voyage.
He forgot to hand it to his replacement, leaving the lookouts using only their eyes to spot icebergs.
The Titanic hit a giant iceberg in the North Atlantic on April 14 1912, four days after leaving Southampton.
