Students carry heavy debt burden
NEARLY a third of students owe more than £10,000, with the average undergraduate £7500 in debt, research showed today.
Eight out of ten students have a student loan, owing an average of 4550 on it, while 73 per cent have an overdraft facility, according to high street bank Halifax.
