Slim pickings for slimming class trio

Three masked men who tried to steal a cash box from a slimming class fled when the woman group leader hit one of them with a chair.

The would-be thief then dropped the cash box and all three offenders ran from the evening Slimming Class meeting in Harpurhey, Manchester, said police.
