Skier survives for 17 hours under snow

SWISS police said a skier survived for 17 hours buried under an avalanche before being pulled from the snow yesterday with only mild hypothermia.

Police said the 21-year-old man may have survived because he was trapped next to an air pocket. The man went missing about 50 miles east of Geneva.
