Sellers more confident as house prices rise
HOUSE prices are continuing to rise in Scotland, according to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
But the increase is at a slower rate than in previous months, the organisation said yesterday.
Its latest housing market survey said 16 per cent of surveyors reported house prices in Scotland rose over the past three months, down from 33 per cent the previous month.
Seventy-five per cent said they had stayed the same while 9 per cent reported they have dropped slightly, down from 11 per cent the previous month.
The institution also said the number of buyers enquiring about property for sale would have added to the confidence of sellers, though that number had slowed since August.
Graeme Hartley, RICS Scotland director, said: "It appears Scottish buyers have got their confidence back and they are prepared to put their homes up for sale."
