Secret Santas give gifts to children

AROUND 170 children living in poverty are set to receive presents this Christmas from a charity donation campaign.

Glasgow charity With Kids, based in the city’s east end, has compiled a list of 60 families who may struggle to find money for gifts. More than 600 items have been donated by businesses and individuals, and include bikes, games, books and toys, with each child receiving four or five presents.

A sack of presents arrives with each family in the week before Christmas to be wrapped by parents or carers for Christmas morning. The children are unaware of the whole process and wake up to presents that have appeared as if by magic thanks to the secret Santas of Glasgow.
