Screaming Glitter loses child sex case appeal

GARY Glitter yesterday lost his appeal against his conviction and three-year prison sentence for molesting young girls at his seaside villa in Vietnam.

Truong Vinh Thuy, one of three judges hearing Glitter's appeal in Ho Chi Minh City, said the court "rejects the appeal of the accused and sentences him to three years in prison for obscene acts with children".

The 62-year-old singer, whose real name is Paul Gadd, had been found guilty on 3 March.

"There was no defence allowed," Glitter screamed as he left the courthouse.

Glitter was accused of kissing, fondling and "other physical acts" with the girls in Vung Tau.

He has maintained his innocence, saying he was teaching the girls English.
