Salmonella warning sparks product recall
A RECALL of houmous was last night extended to five other UK food chains after salmonella was found in some Marks & Spencer products.
Iceland-based manufacturer Bakkavor is pulling products from the Co-op, Sainsbury's, Somerfield, Tesco and Waitrose as a precautionary measure.
M&S recalled two own-brand houmous products on Thursday after salmonella was found during routine tests.
Bakkavor is urging customers to return the products to stores for a full refund.
The firm is carrying out its own investigation into how the salmonella contamination happened.
