Royal Salute marks prince's 60th birthday

GUNNERS fire the Royal Salute at Edinburgh Castle for Prince Charles on his 60th birthday.

A 21-gun Royal salute was carried out from noon yesterday by gunners from the 105 Regiment Royal Artillery.

Commanding officer, Lieutenant Colonel Ian Ross, said it was the first time a Royal Salute had been fired for Prince Charles at Edinburgh Castle, and added that the regiment was "deeply honoured".
