Queen hosts first state visit of Jubilee year

THE QUEEN welcomed the
president of Indonesia to Buckingham Palace yesterday for the first state visit of her busy
Diamond Jubilee year.

The Duke of Edinburgh joined the Queen to greet Dr Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, 59, and first lady Ani Bambang
Yudhoyono at Horse Guards
Parade for the start of their three-day trip to the UK.

While the royals waited for their guests to arrive, the duke was seen tugging at the Lord Mayor of Westminster’s ceremonial robe.

He appeared to be admiring Angela Harvey’s royal blue and gold embroidered gown while the Queen waited with Prime Minister David Cameron.
