Probe into racist threats to beauty queen
North Yorkshire: Police are investigating claims a self-confessed racist threatened black beauty queen Helen Lawal after she was crowned Miss York.
Newcastle: A pub chain has apologised after Labour MP Denis MacShane complained about a bar offering free drinks to women who bared their breasts to staff. Mr MacShane claimed the Sinners bar in Newcastle was promoting the degradation of women.
London: Workers on London Underground's Victoria Line are to stage a 24-hour strike from tonight, threatening disruption.
The Rail Maritime and Transport union said 180 of its members would walk out.
