Prince Charles offers Christmas greetings from Ascot
AN IMAGE from this year's Royal Ascot races has been chosen by the Prince of Wales for his Christmas card.
The picture, taken in June, shows Charles with his wife the Duchess of Cornwall in close-up travelling in a carriage.
The royal couple are pictured in an Ascot landau carriage taking part in the traditional procession of royal carriages down the racecourse before the start of the day's meet – an event repeated every day of Royal Ascot.
The prince is dressed in a grey morning coat and a black silk top hat and the Duchess is wearing a pink Philip Treacy straw hat and matching chiffon dress and silk coat by Anna Valentine.
The picture was taken by veteran royal photographer Anwar Hussein, who has been covering the monarchy for decades.
