Poll says most bar staff oppose a smoking ban

MOST bar staff oppose moves to ban smoking in Britain’s pubs, according to a new survey.

And most are also happy to work where smoking is allowed in designated areas.

According to the poll for hospitality industry body Atmosphere Improves Results (AIR), 89 per cent of licensees and staff think some smoking should continue to be allowed in pubs. Only eight per cent said they favoured an outright ban.
