A former senior City of London police officer has been arrested on suspicion of passing information to a journalist.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission said the 52-year-old was held on suspicion of misconduct in public office at his home in south west London today.

He is currently being questioned and there is no suggestion that he received money for the information, the IPCC said.
