Police investigate MP's claims

ANOTHER Labour MP is under police investigation over his parliamentary expenses, it has been reported.

The Metropolitan Police have launched a criminal inquiry into Leyton and Wanstead MP Harry Cohen after he claimed around 70,000 for a second home while renting out his main residence.

Mr Cohen was severely criticised last month by a Commons committee for a "particularly serious breach of the rules".

Officers will focus their investigations on how the MP – who is standing down at the general election – wrongly claimed the second-home allowance for four years.
