Police appeal after toddler mauled by dogs

A toddler has suffered serious facial injuries after being mauled by two dogs in Wiltshire.

The two-year-old boy was attacked by the animals, which are believed to be Staffordshire Bull Terriers, in a back garden at around 6pm yesterday before being rushed to hospital for emergency treatment.

A 49-year-old man also received hand injuries during the incident at an address in Swanage Walk, Swindon.

Wiltshire Police said both dogs had been seized by officers. No-one has been arrested in connection with the attack yet, the force added.

Police said the toddler’s parents were at their son’s bedside.

Investigating officers have appealed for anyone with information about the attack to contact police.
